There are mainly two different techniques used in weight loss acupuncture. The Chinese method and then there is the Japanese method. Here is a bit about the Japanese method.
They emphasis on palpation and then their findings are identified by touching
Their needles are very thin and guided in by a tube
They also warm the area of insertion with moxa
The Chinese use mainly the same techniques, but include the following.
Cupping is a method where certain areas are suctioned through a tube creating blood flow to that area.
Acupressure is another method but no needles are used
Electo-Accupuncture is where small electric pulses are sent through the needles
All of the methods above have been used in successful weight loss for many patients. Some have said the Chinese methods work better. That would be totally up to you to decide. The treatments used all have been said to work to some degree, however, each person is different along with their determination to lose weight.
